As per the latest notification by the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), Sharjah has announced new rules for property ownership. These rules imply that individuals holding any nationality can now own property in the emirate. There are no longer restrictions pertaining to buying property in Sharjah, regardless of their nationality.

The decision was announced after a recently held SEC meeting chaired by the Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi. The meeting also covered general government concerns and strategies to improve different areas of the emirate in order to accomplish the objectives and offer all inhabitants and citizens well-being and good existence.

According to this new development, real estate buyers, regardless of their nationalities, can buy any property in any project or area. This action has been taken to boost the real estate sector of Sharjah and bring more foreign investment into the emirate.

These developments in real estate registration seek to keep up with the expansion of this industry and provide all nationalities ownership options in a controlled manner while preserving stability. The laws also safeguard the legal rights of investors and owners of all nationalities.

To control Sharjah’s mortgage insurance market, the council has announced a separate order.
