The UAE has some of the best tourist attractions, so anyone looking for a fun day out is practically spoiled for choice. But there’s no better way to beat the heat than by making a splash at one the country’s wetter destinations. Here are some of the best water parks in the UAE.

Legoland Water Park

One of the newest additions to Dubai’s collection of tourist attractions, the Legoland Water Park can be found at the Dubai Parks and Resorts in Jebel Ali, about a 45 minute drive from downtown Dubai. It’s well worth the trip, as it will make even the most curmudgeon of an adult relive their childhood fantasies. Kids, obviously, will love it here.

It is one of the more laid back sort of water parks, with most rides leaning towards the sedate rather than the thrilling. Visitors can relax at the Duplo Splash Park, or unleash their creativity at the Build-a-Raft lazy river, where families can create their own raft using Lego soft bricks, before floating together down a lazy river. Definitely a must-visit for families with young children and fans of Lego!

Dreamland Aqua Park, Umm Al Quwain

A veritable UAE institute that has been visited, if not frequented, by almost everyone who grew up in the UAE. Although no longer the sole contender for the UAE’s best waterpark, Dreamland Aqua Park is still a great way to spend a weekend.

Packed to the brim with fun activities like raging rivers, water volleyball and basketball and even a ‘Dead Sea’ experience in a high-salinity pool, there’s enough for everyone to enjoy for hours! There’s even a two-day camping experience that comes with sleeping bags, a BBQ stove and bonfires on which to roast marshmallows.

Aquaventure, Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

The famous Atlantis The Palm is a nautical-themed hotel, so naturally it plays host to one of the country’s best (and biggest) water parks. The award-winning Aquaventure allows you to take the thrilling 90-foot ‘Leap of Faith’, swim with sharks and rays, or simply unwind at the 700 meter stretch of pristine beach or the numerous reserved seating areas in the park. Aquaventure brings the best of what one can experience in a waterpark, making it without doubt one of the best waterparks in Dubai, if not the world.
There are a huge number of attractions at the park, suitable for just about anyone. Our personal favourite is the Poseidon’s Revenge. A trapdoor opens beneath you and you plummet 75 feet before the slide arcs you through a double loop. For those looking for something less… thrilling, there’s a calm lazy river for you to float down, although it does pack its own surprises!

Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi

You would be remiss if you took a trip to the nation’s capital and skimped on this wonderful offering. Opening its doors back in 2013, Yas Waterworld quickly secured its spot as one of the world’s (yes, world’s!) top 10 water parks. It is also one of the region’s largest water parks. There’s tons of stuff to do, like surfing at the world’s largest surfable sheet wave; or taking the plunge down an epic Slither Slide and pass through wave tunnels on your way down.

Maybe you could jump in a six-person water coaster that takes you on a wild ride over twists, turns, rapids, and drops. Finally, when you’ve tired yourself out from all the adrenaline, float calmly along the lazy river. Some of Yas Waterworld’s most popular rides are the Dawwama- a tornado water slide, Rushrider – a giant wave pool perfect for flow-boarding and the Liwa Loop, a looping free-fall slide.
