Dubai remains one of the most popular tourist destination across the globe.
Having said that, with the Dubai summers proving to be too hot for some people’s liking, it is often a conception that the city isn’t the place for outdoor activities. However, the months from October till April witness pleasant weather and cool breeze and thus are the best times to explore an array of parks where people can visit, enjoy a picnic and see plenty of greenery – in the middle of the desert.

SAFA PARK
This is undoubtedly Dubai’s most popular park. It has been around for over a decade and is a favorite for families to come and enjoy the day, whether for a picnic or making use of the park’s barbecue facilities. Safa Park has just recently undergone a makeover and the newly inaugurated Dubai Canal runs through the middle of the park, bringing a unique waterfront to the already beautiful spot. The entrance fee to Safa Park is less than $1.

CREEKSIDE PARK
Dubai Creek Park is one of the oldest parks in Dubai and is located in the heart of the old city. It is very popular even today among families and bachelors alike. The park enjoys the cool breeze from the creek and has barbecue areas. Children’s play areas dotted throughout the park and is home to the Children City Centre and the Dubai Dolphinarium.

ZABEEL PARK
It is situated between the Dubai World Trade Center and Al Karama. It offers a 3-D cinema and educational and entertaining interactive shows in its Communications Zone, Techno Zone and Alternative Energy Zone. Its area is equal to that of 45 football playgrounds, features around 3,000 palm trees with almost 7,000 other trees of 14 different species. Dubai Municipality has launched a wireless Internet service for the park’s visitors. The park provides a parking area accommodating 2,300 cars.

BUTTERFLY GARDEN
Dubai is home to the largest ever indoor butterfly park at the Dubai Miracle Garden. Whereas Dubai Miracle Garden is all about oddball floral sculptures and only open during the winter, the climate-controlled butterfly park is open year-round and features nine large domes, each providing a comfortable home to some of the world’s most beautiful species of winged creatures as well as a butterfly museum and butterfly flower park.
Besides all these public parks there are many more worth visiting public parks in Dubai as well.
