What’s Special About Dubai Summer Surprise

The campaign is known for including different events and initiatives including promotional and entertainment activities. This year, it has been planned to incorporate virtual elements and eTours as well. Other than that, it will have numerous in-person activations. There will be bargains and promotions across the city for the attendees.

The status of this festival was uncertain because of the COVID-19 infused restrictions and lockdown, which was recently lifted. However, since the restrictions are gradually eased now and the city is coming back to life, this announcement has been well-received by the public. Retail brands have also shown their keenness and more than 700 have already signed up for this event. Over 3000 outlets will be offering 25 to 75 per cent discounts in Dubai on a range of products. It is certainly a good time for retail therapy for those who have been confined to their homes for a prolonged period. Shopaholics will be able to fulfil their shopping desires and buy anything under the sun that too at discounted rates.

The authorities maintain that additional safety measures will be followed during the festival. These protocols are already followed in Dubai as shopping centres have opened to full capacity since 2nd June. Temporary isolation rooms have been created for people who show symptoms of COVID-19. However, for the upcoming festival, advanced security measures and protocols will be implemented in all shopping malls and retail stores located in the city. It will be necessary for everyone to follow social distancing norms i.e. maintaining a distance of two metres minimum. Moreover, wearing face masks will also be made compulsory for both visitors and staff members. Temperature checks will also be carried out.

As per Chief Executive of Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment Mr Ahmed Al Khaja, they are looking forward to this much-anticipated event more than any other due to the difficult times the city has faced over the past few months.

He stated that they are ready to welcome back visitors and residents to this festival in Dubai. He also ensured that no compromise will be made on their health and security as it is going to remain their utmost priority.

Although the dates of this event have been announced but its full calendar hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Apart from this, it is also announced that preparations for reopening schools in September are underway. A set of comprehensive guidelines will be followed to mitigate the risk of the virus. These guidelines include no sharing of meals among students, reducing gatherings, revised seating plan, proper disinfection and sterilisation of school premises on a regular basis.
