Even though Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates in the UAE, it still packs in a lot for tourists. It is also gaining popularity in other facets. As a matter of fact, investors and buyers are also shifting their focus to this emirate. This is evident from the rising demand for properties for sale in Ajman.

Coming back to attractions and activities, there’s a lot to do in this emirate that will keep you coming back here. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the must-visit places and things to do in Ajman.

Unmissable Things to do in Ajman

Things to do in Ajman

1.  Witness the Amazing Race at Al Tallah Camel Race Course

Many believe that camel races are outdated. Well, they are dearly mistaken. Camel races are still famous, at least in the Middle East region. You may not find them in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, but it is one of the best things to do in Ajman.

The best part of the camel race organised at Al Tallah Camel Race Course is that it comes infused with the element of modern technology. This means the visitors get to enjoy the remote-controlled robotic jockeys.

Camel races are organised here every Friday and Saturday, early morning. An annual camel festival is also held in February. It features a host of activities and attractions, including a camel beauty pageant.

2.  Visit Al Jarah Cultural Centre

Just like other emirates, Ajman also proudly flaunts its cultural side via the Al Jarah Cultural Centre. Here you will  get to know more about the rich history and traditions of not only Ajman but the UAE on the whole. This is a guided tour; thus, you will be warmly welcomed by a guide when you reach Al Jarah Cultural Centre. It is indeed one of the top things to do in Ajman for history lovers.

3.  Visit the Ajman National Museum (Ajman Fort)

Another place for history enthusiasts, Ajman National Museum, also called the Ajman Fort, is home to numerous artefacts, ranging from pottery and jewellery to tombs. Some of the items here date back to 3000 BC.

It was originally the ruler’s palace that was constructed in the late 18th century. Its barjeel (wind tower) is said to be the oldest of its kind in the entire country.

4.  Visit The New Waterpark (Funtastico Splash)

Moving away from history and traditional things to do in Ajman, The New Waterpark is a place that the entire family can visit together and indulge in some fun time. While the climate in Ajman is cooler than in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it can still be quite warm during the summer season. And if you happen to visit the emirate during the summers, visiting the New Waterpark should certainly be on your bucket list.

Known as Funtastico Splash, it is currently the only water park in the entire emirate. Apart from water-based options, there are a lot of activities here that you can enjoy. These include bouncy castles, slides, trampoline with an airbag, rent a bike, etc. It also organises several fun competitions from time to time to keep visitors (families in particular) entertained.

So, even if you’re not fond of spending time in the water, there’s a lot you can enjoy at Funtastico Splash.

5.  Visit The Al Zorah Nature Reserve

The Al Zorah Nature Reserve, a lively environment of blue lagoons, mangroves, and sandy beaches, is home to over 60 species of birds, including the pink flamingo, heron, and the egret. The location is ideal for water sports, with seven kilometres of shoreline and two kilometres of tidal stream and beach.

One of the best ways to explore the mangroves of this nature reserve is to go kayaking. It is also suited for beginning kayakers because of the extensive network of canals and calm seas. Golfers may also play at the neighbouring Al Zorah Golf Club’s 18-hole Championship course.

6.  Hike in Masfout

Climbing up the charts of popularity at a rapid pace among the top things to do in Ajman is  Masfout. A beautiful place, away from the city’s chaos, it is ideal for hikers to explore the local area.

It is basically a small landlocked enclave surrounded by the Hajar Mountains. The area’s increased height provides milder temperatures for trekking, while the mountainous landscape offers something to look forward to for nature enthusiasts. It is located southeast of Ajman city and is accessible from Dubai, approximately 90 minutes. Before you go out, make sure you have all of the essential equipment. We recommend avoiding the region from June to September as the warm weather can be difficult to deal with.

7.  Visit Ajman Beaches

How can we miss out on the tranquil Ajman beaches? Certainly, one of the unmissable things to do in Ajman.

The emirate is known to be home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire country. Ajman’s coastline is lined with beach resorts, each having its own stretch of sea and beautiful sands for visitors. Visitors can use resort amenities by purchasing a day pass to access private beaches, or they can enjoy the nice length of public beach that runs around the outside of town.

There you have it! These are some of the best things to do in Ajman. While there are many hotels you can book a stay in, we recommend renting a beautiful villa in Ajman for an even better experience.
