If you were to look out of your window right now, you’d be forgiven for thinking Dubai was in the middle of a freaky winter. Don’t be fooled by the murky skies, though. A swathe of dust storms have engulfed the nation, so its best to stay indoors until they abate. Here are some of the most fun indoor activities you can indulge in until the weather gets better.

Bounce Dubai
Bounce is Dubai’s coolest urban playground, and it isn’t just for kids! The huge indoor playground is filled with trampolines (over 100 of them!) and padding, allowing you to jump to your heart’s content. There’s also a huge jumping arena, a performance area and a few basketball hoops to boot.

There’s fun for all ages. The Mini Bounce programme hosts awesome activities for children between three and five years, while older bouncers can team up and participate in a game of dodgeball. Bounce also houses the X-Park Ninja Warrior obstacle course, which features 18 exciting elements, including a zip line and a bouldering wall.

The Dubai Ice Rink
The Dubai Ice Rink is an Olympic-sized ice skating rink at the Dubai Mall, and the largest and best-equipped rink in the city. Public skating sessions run every day from 10 AM to 10 PM. There are even Disco sessions in the evenings!

Moms and young kids get a special discount in the mornings, and there’s always a skating coach or two on hand to provide advice and assistance. For the more wobby amongst you, ‘Penguin Pals’ stand at the ready to help you maintain your balance and develop the correct stance.

The rink also plays host to the Emirates Hockey League games, with free seating offered, although many prefer to watch from the balconies.

Other facilities include lockers, a snack bar, spectator seating and a skate shop.

Ski Dubai
Ice skating not cool enough for you? How about skiing in a desert? Located inside Mall of the Emirates, the region’s first snow park and winter-sport attraction is one of the most fun things to do in Dubai, regardless of the weather. And yes, the snow is completely real!

Apart from skiing and snowboarding, there are tonnes of activities at Ski Dubai, like playing with penguins, building a snowman, rolling down the hills, riding the Twin-Track Bobsled or explore a snow cavern. Or just relax at the cafe, pretending you’re in the Alps while sipping on some delicious hot chocolate.

Dubai Bowling Center
Having recently gotten a makeover, DBC is back and is better than ever. There’s a very retro feel to the bowling centre, with 16 professional-series lanes, which can be booked online, and black-and-white movies screened via projectors above the lanes.
There’s also an arcade for those who’ve struck out with bowling. The DBC Arcade has great old-school games, some fun modern ones, and even virtual reality games. There’s also console and PC gaming for enthusiasts. Similar to Bounce, DBC has a trampoline playground called Jump Up, where you can jump around and play dodgeball and basketball.
The in-house restaurant Yamu (Japanese for ‘yummy’) has a quirky menu, filled with dishes that are inspired by gaming culture. From odd burgers served on colourful buns to the ever-popular ‘freak shakes’, it’s the perfect place for a mid-bowling snack.
